A few frequently asked questions about Sanctuary Wakefield:

How do I book a class?

We have 4 different ways you can book a class:

1. Download the MindBody app from your app store or Google Play. Allow the app to use your location. Create an account and search for ‘Sanctuary Wakefield’. Add us to your favourites. You can then view our schedule and click to book.

2. Through the ‘Booking’ page on our website. Follow the step-by-step instructions.

3. Call us on 01924 609677

4. Come and see us at reception and we will book you in to the class of your choice.

 

Do I need to bring any equipment with me?

Since COVID-19  we highly recommend you bring your own! Please bring your own mat, blocks and strap if you have them. However, you are more than welcome to use our’s and give them a wipe down afterwards or you can purchase all equipment from reception. We have everything you will need.

 

Do you have changing facilities?

Yes, we do.

 

Do you have lockers or storage?

Shoes, bags and all other personal items are kept in the studio with you during the class. Any large items can be left with the front desk team. We have coat hooks in reception for outerwear or any clothing you’d like to hang.

 

Do you have toilets or showers?

We have toilets. We do not have shower facilities.

 

Do you have a water machine?

We have a tap in the kitchen to fill up your water bottles. Please ask a member of staff to help. We sell bottled water but prefer clients to bring their own bottle if possible to save plastic.

 

Do I have to join a monthly contract to attend classes?

No, all classes can be paid for on a pay-as-you-go basis. However, we do offer a variety of passes that allow you to save money if you attend classes regularly.

 

Which of your yoga classes are suitable for beginners?

Beginners are welcome to join in all of our classes here at Sanctuary and work at their own level. If you are looking for specific beginner’s classes then we recommend you try Stretch & Relax, Pilates, & Hatha Yoga. All our Aerial classes are suitable for beginners too.

 

Do you offer private sessions or personal training?

Yes, we offer private sessions for Aerial, Yoga, Pilates…or anything else on our timetable. These cost £35 per hour or 10 sessions for £300.  We also offer reduced rates if you would like PT with a friend. Please get in touch by phone or email to discuss availability.

 

Do you offer private group sessions or parties?

Yes, we can offer private group sessions or parties at certain times during the week and during the afternoon on weekends. Please get in touch by phone or email for more information.

 

How long before my class starts do I need to arrive?

We recommend that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your class is due to start.

 

What is your cancellation policy for individual classes?

From the 14th September 2020 we require a minimum of 12 hours notice to cancel a class so the cost can be credited to your MINDBODY account. If less than 12 hours notice is given, you will lose the class.

 

How can I cancel my membership?

We require 7 days written notice, sent by email to studio@sanctuarywakefield.com. If you are unsure of the renewal date, please get in touch by phone or email.

 

What is the maximum weight capacity of the aerial hammocks?

28.5 stone

 

What is the minimum age for your classes and workshops?

All classes besides our child specific classes/workshops have a minimum age of 16 years. All workshops besides specific under 16’s workshops and Monthly Musicals, have a minimum age of 16 years. Children from the age of 7 can attend Monthly Musicals if accompanying an adult.

 

What should I wear/not wear to an aerial yoga class/workshop?

Please wear a long-sleeved top (for your first time) and tight leggings/bottoms. Avoid wearing clothing with zips or loose items of clothing (especially bottoms) as these can get caught in the hammock fabric. Also avoid wearing jewellery, strong perfumes, lotions or scents.

 

Can I eat or drink before an aerial yoga class/workshop?

Avoid eating for up to 2 hours before an Aerial class/workshop. We also do not recommend you drink smoothies & milky drinks for up to 2 hours before.

 

What methods of payment do you accept in the studio?

We accept cash, card (contactless or pin), and contactless mobile devices.

 

Are you a sustainable business?

We try to be as sustainable as possible by recycling all plastic, cardboard and paper used at Sanctuary, and using environmentally friendly natural cleaning products.

 

Do I have to sign up for classes in advance?

We do recommend booking classes in advance as they can get full and we wouldn’t want you to travel to the studio and be disappointed. Booking is easy via the MINDBODY app, or get in touch by phone or email. However, you can just turn up.

 

I have an injury or medical condition, can I attend classes?

We welcome all at Sanctuary, but please seek the advice of a medical professional if you are injured or have a medical condition, before attending a class. Before starting a class, let your instructor know about any injuries/conditions, so they can advise you during the class.

 

Do you have free parking?

Yes, all our customers get two hours free parking in Trinity Walk Shopping Centre car park.

 

Do you have a bike rack/storage?

There is a bike rack on the top deck of Trinity Walk Shopping Centre car park, across from the corner of Asda Living. However we cannot be held responsible for your bike if it is left there. We advise using a bike lock.
